This provides you wilth a reminder of who we have had as guest speakers at the club and what activities had been provided for the club members in 2010.

This was our Christmas Party with the regular slot car racing and buffet. The bad weather affected the turnout, but a great evening was had by all who came along. Thanks go to Nick Sismey for providing such a different and challenging race circuit and the ladies of the committee members for the food.

The results of the racing were:

1.      Ed Didsbury

2.      Richard Bostock

3.      John Bannister

Fastest lap of the evening  - Jamie Lawrance

Penny Mallory, TV presenter and Rally Driver entertained us with her experiences from her past and how she sets herself some incredible challenges each year.

VSCC racing driver Mark Walker gave an excellent talk about some of the more unusual cars that he has restored and raced. His latest project being a 1905 24.5 Litre Daracq.

Ian Titchmarsh, race commentator, entertained us with two talks, the first about his experiences in Formual Junior 1963 and in the second half he talked about his top 10 races that he has actually been present at. A thoroughly interesting evening.

We had a tremendous turnout for the talk given by Richard Noble. Richard gave an illustarted presentation of his past projects - Thrust and Thrust SSC. His main focus was on his new project - Bloodhound and how he has involved many schools in an attempt to get more people interested in engineering. It was an excellent evening.

We left the world of motor racing for this month's talk. Stewart Waring, a very experienced pilot, who gave an excellent illustrated talk about the aircraft in the Shuttleworth Collection. Stewart, having flown most of the collection was able to give a very personal account of the planes.

This was our first meeting at the Corn Exchange, and was a success. We had a great turn out for John Cleland, who gave us an insight into the world of the British Touring Car Championship.

Marcus Pye, National Editor of the Autopsport Magazine gave us an entertaining talk about the world of journalism in the motorsport world. He also related some of his racing experiences.

We had a another great attendance at our meeting in March when Tony Southgate gave a very interesting and detailed presentation of the cars he had designed. The information was interspersed with a perspective of the racing and the people of the times.

We had another great attendance for the talk given by Jeremy Rivers-Fletcher. He covered his life and racing experiences together with some films taken by his father as he told us about Rivers-Fletcher's life.

We had a record attendance for Guy Martin, the TT racer. Guy provided an entertaining evening covering such varied topics as lawn mower engines, TT Racing, Circuit Racing and push bikes. A great evening.
