Formula One’s Martin Brundle entertained a capacity audience at the Bourne Corn Exchange on Thursday, 15th December 2016, ending Bourne Motor Racing Club’s year in style.
The former racing driver, who is now a commentator and presenter for Sky Sports F1, spoke openly about his time behind the wheel, giving the audience a unique insight into the life of a racing driver. The second half of the event included a question and answer session, with many in the audience keen to hear Martin’s thoughts on how the 2017 season might unfold.
Before the event began and during the interval, Martin took the time to meet fans and sign copies of his book, The Martin Brundle Scrapbook.
From 2017, a new steering committee will take over the running of Bourne Motor Racing Club, with the outgoing committee standing down after 20 years at the helm. Speaking after the event, Richard Bostock said: “Martin gave a fascinating insight into the mad circus world of Formula One, both as a racing driver and as one of the world’s leading motor racing journalists. His talk came at a time where there’s lots going on in the sport, and it was certainly a fantastic way to round off the year. It was a great way to mark the end of our committee’s involvement in the Club, and we wish the new committee every success in the future”.
Bourne Motor Racing Club returns on Thursday, 19th January 2017 with Nick Sismey and his infamous slot car racing track. For more information, visit www.BourneMotorClub.co.uk.
