Countdown to 2015 Bourne Classic Car & Bike Show:
The final countdown is underway to the 10th Bourne Classic Car & Bike Show, which will take place next Sunday, 21st June 2015 on the Wellhead Field in Bourne, Lincolnshire.
This year’s show looks set to be one of the best ever, which as its central display looks back over a century of family motoring. Over 350 classic cars, motorcycles and commercial vehicles have pre-registered for the event, and the show will also feature a display of local racing vehicles by the town’s BRM Association.
The aim of the show has always been to provide a happy, relaxed atmosphere for all the family to enjoy, and as always the show will include a variety of craft stands, light refreshments, the ever popular Punch & Judy Show and a varied musical programme by The Collaborators band. The show also looks forward to a flypast from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.
This year’s Super Prize Draw will give those who purchase a programme the opportunity to win two tickets to this year’s British Grand Prix, as well as a second prize of tickets to the Silverstone Classic, and 3rd prize of Next vouchers for those less interested in motorsport. The event programme features a full list of show entrants, a unique insight into the past century of motoring by journalist David Brown and information on prizes available for entrants to win, and will be available to purchase on the day for £1.
Earlier in the year, Bourne Motor Racing Club announced that this would be the last show organised by them, although the committee are hopeful someone will come forward to take on the mantle. Committee member Richard Bostock said: “The show doesn’t just happen overnight, it takes a lot to organise and it has grown beyond what we ever thought when we started 10 years ago. We hope this show will be fantastic for the people of Bourne. We’ll certainly be looking to go out with a bang”.
Along with the show, Bourne Heritage Centre will be open during the day at Baldock’s Mill, and a vintage and craft fair is being held at the Darby and Joan Hall featuring vintage, retro and collectable gifts with vintage themed crafts.
As always, the show remains free to entrants and the public, and will open from 10am – 4:30pm. Depending on ground conditions, limited parking will be available to the public for £2.
