From Bleriot to B52 - Flying, the early years

Our speaker at the next meeting on 8th March will be Stewart Waring.

 

Stewart obtained his Private Pilot's licence in 1964, and was in the RAF from 1965 to 1983, flying Provosts, Gnats, Victor tankers, Chipmunks, Canberras and Hercules.

Types flown include Bristol Boxkite, Spitfire, SE5A, DH88 Comet Racer, Gladiator, Hind, Harvard,DH53 Humming Bird, Pitts S1S, Bleriot XI, and about 90 others.

 

 

Owned 1939 Luscombe Silvaire G-BRPZ for nine years and raced it, including in the Kings Cup.

He is also a commentator at air displays including Old Warden (Shuttleworth), Duxford, Bruntingthorpe and Boscombe Down.
